Bacon-Onion Croutons recipe
Ingredients:
5 slices of firm white bread.
2 tablespoons of bacon drippings.
2 tablespoons of olive oil.
½ teaspoon of onion powder.
1 teaspoon of poppy seeds.
Directions:
Cut the crusts from the bread, then dice bread into ½-inch cubes.
In a large frying pan over medium heat, heat the bacon drippings with the olive oil, onion powder and poppy seeds.
Add the cubes of bread, stirring until coated.
Transfer the cubes to a rimmed baking sheet and spread in a single layer.
Bake in your oven at 300°F (150°C) for 25-30 minutes until lightly browned and crisp.
Allow to cool.
